Springfield, Il — Members of the local community came together to honor the nation's veterans with a motorcycle ride on Sunday, October 10th.

The 8th annual "Ride in Honor" was sponsored by Staab Funeral home and visited the area's veterans memorials: Camp Butler Cemetery, Spaulding Veterans Memorial, Oak Ridge Cemetery, and New Berlin Area Veterans Memorial.

Wreaths were donated by Fifth Street Flower Shop and placed at each location.

A moment of silence was observed at each site.

The event ended with a celebration at the VFW Post 755 and all proceeds will be donated to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
