Motorcycle ride memorializes fallen Reading firefighter

Despite the rain Sunday, more than 50 motorcycles and other vehicles took part in a ride memorializing Erik Hirner.

Hirner, who was killed in a motorcycle accident May 25, 2018, was an 11-year veteran of the Reading Fire Department and volunteer assistant chief for the North Catasauqua Fire Department, Northampton County.

The event, a fundraiser for Hirner's widow, Katrina, and family, was coordinated by Mike Berger, road captain of Red Knights PA Chapter 10.
